The Colorado Mongolian community is the oldest and one of the largest Mongolian communities residing in the U.S. with Texas being the only other state where Mongolians have honorary consul appointed from the Mongolian government.
Census shows that there are about 3,000 Mongolians in Colorado area. This is a high number since total Mongolian population is slightly over 3 million.
Colorado and Mongolia have similar climates, nature, and altitude which makes Colorado an ideal home for many Mongolians. Moreover, the capital city of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar, has sister city relation with
Denver and exchanges students, delegates, and cultures
on a regular basis.
