The Filipino American Community of Colorado (FACC) is spearheading a new initiative as part of the Acts of Kindness campaign. The initiative focuses on helping the homeless, particularly those who are underserved and living in tent areas within the surrounding neighborhoods.
The FACC started this initiative during the pandemic, recognizing the struggles that homeless individuals were facing due to the impact of the pandemic. To help alleviate some of these struggles, the FACC began putting together backpacks filled with personal items such as hygiene supplies, winter essentials like socks, gloves, hats, and scarves, as well as blankets, sanitizers, and masks. They also give out grocery bags filled with food to help provide some basic nourishment to those in need.
With the current sponsorship of the Asian Roundtable of Colorado, the FACC is able to continue this initiative and reach even more homeless individuals in need. By providing these basic necessities, the FACC hopes to bring some relief and comfort to those who are struggling with homelessness during this difficult time.
This initiative is an inspiring example of how communities can come together to help those in need. The FACC's willingness to take action and provide essential resources to those experiencing homelessness is a testament to the kindness and compassion of the human spirit. It is a reminder that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference in the lives of those who are struggling.
