Filipino Community
  • The Filipino community is one of the oldest Asian American communities in Colorado dating back to 1954 with the establishment of the Filipino-American Community of Colorado or FACC. 

  • Census shows that there are about 30,000 Filipinos in Colorado, fourth largest AAPI group behind Chinese, Indian and Korean.

  • Maintaining a sense of family is a key feature of Filipino culture. Regional organizations that arrange social events to preserve community and culture are an important part of Filipino American life. 

  • Regional organizations like NaFFAA Region V has been providing Voter Education, Registration, Protection and Get Out The Vote service to Colorado Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Island (AANHPI) community since 2016. Apiavote.org

  • Filipino Americans form a multilingual community but the two most spoken languages are English and Tagalog. In 2009, Tagalog was the fourth largest spoken language in the United States with around 1.5 million speakers.
